When you’re first starting out in the world of home brewing, the best thing you could do is get your hands on a good kit. It’s great for all beer lovers who want to brew great tasting beer right in their very own home.

Now I’ve seen many different kits available online but just about the best one I’ve come across to this day is the The Coopers DIY Beer Kit. It’s definitely my favorite and I use mine all the time.

With it you just can’t go wrong. Everything you need is included in the kit which makes it very fast, extremely easy, and not to mention the beer is darn good!

Why Is Coopers A Cut Above The Rest?

First of all, Coopers is a family owned beer company and is one of the largest in Australia. They know how to make good beer and it shows in their micro-brewery kit.

Next, like I mentioned earlier, everything you’re going to need to make your own great tasting beer is included in the kit. There’s no guesswork at all, directions are clear cut, There is a huge selection of different beer packages, and the results are simply delicious

With the ability to make just about 5 gallons of brew at a time, you get the most bang for you buck, especially compared to other brew kits available. Coopers is the real deal and for the one time investment, you’ll be making all your own delicious beer for years to come.

Alright if you’re going to learn how to brew your own beer from home then there’s a few different supplies you’ll need to have in order to make it work. If you’d rather get all the equipment you’d need, all in one shot you can always go for the Coopers Home Brewing Kit which comes with everything in their perfect amounts. If not, well then here’s a basic rundown of what you’d need to get started.

First you need to get your fermenting buckets (some people like to use glass containers). You’ll need two that seal perfectly; one for primary fermentation and one for secondary fermentation. For the first bucket, which will be used for primary fermentation, you’ll need to drill a hole in the lid which will be used to place an airlock. The second bucket, which is used for secondary fermentation, will need a spigot to be drilled and installed 2 inches above the bottom of the bucket for bottling.

Second you need your basic accessories such as siphoning tube, hydrometer, your bottles and capper, and an airlock or fermenting lock. You’ll use the siphoning tube to transfer the beer from container one to container two. The hydrometer is a floating tool that’s placed in the beer to tell you whether the fermentation is complete. You’ll need to bottles obviously to place the beer in and you need a capper tool in order to cap the bottles. Finally, your airlock is the device that goes into the drilled hole on top of the primary fermenting bucket which let’s air out during fermentation but doesn’t let any air or particles in.

Third you’re going to need your basic cleanser. It’s very important to be extremely clean when brewing beer because even the smallest amount of bacteria that makes it into your beer could ruin the taste of your beer. This is known as contamination. So be sure that everything is sanitized using either bleach or a no-rinse cleanser. If you use bleach, be sure to completely wash out all scent of bleach before going ahead with the brewing. If you use a no-rinse cleanser like Star-San, it will be much easier because you don’t have to rinse after sanitizing.

Besides all of the above equipment you’ll need if you’re going to be learning how to brew your own beer, you’ll definitely need the actual ingredients such as the yeast, malt extract, and brewing sugar. This does vary however according to the type of beer you plan on brewing.

If you’re a complete beginner, I again will suggest that you pick up a home brewing kit like the Cooper’s Home Brewing Kit which comes with everything you’ve just read above, easy to follow instructions, and your basic brewing ingredients to easily make your first batch of beer from home. Happy Brewing & Cheers!

This is a basic rundown of how to brew your own beer. You will already need to have the equipment necessary to do it, but don’t worry it’s actually very affordable if you pickup an all in one kit like the Cooper’s home brewing kit. It’s only about $100 and it comes with everything you need to make your own great tasting beer. It’s the one I use and I love it!

You always want to follow the individual instructions that come with your home brewing kit, but a basic rundown gos as follows…

-Sanitizing your brewing gear: This is a very important step when trying to learn how to brew your own beer and should not be skipped. If you don’t sanitize the equipment then you run the chance of spoiling the taste of your brew once it’s finished. Some of the popular sanitizers used are B-Brite and Star San which are made especially for brewing equipment cleaning. You can use your basic household bleach but if you don’t clean out the bleach thoroughly after the sanitizing, you might end up with a funny tasting beer.

-The type of water to use: The kind of water you use does have a small affect on the outcome of your beer but it is an affect none the less. Basically if you use tap water you could get a finished taste reminiscent of the different chemicals that might be in tap water. If your tap water tastes okay at room temperature than it will probably be okay, but its always a little safer just to simply use filtered water.

-It’s boiling time: Now you heat the water and add the malt extract once the water starts to boil. Stir the mix frequently so as to prevent the malt extract from settling on the bottom of the pot and getting burnt. Then add the hops to the mix and continue boiling for about an hour or so. Make sure you keep an eye on the boiling process because the water could boil over and make a mess.

-Cooling the wort: After the boiling process you now are left with what is called the wort. You want to cool it down as fast as possible to 80 degrees Fahrenheit by placing the pot in a sink full of ice water. Stirring to help in the cooling process is recommended but make sure the spoon you use to stir is clean.

-Setting the wort to ferment: When the wort is as the correct temperature, you want to transfer it to you properly sanitized fermenting tank using an also sanitized funnel. Once in the tank, you’ll should mix or splash the wort around in order to get oxygen circulating for the yeast.

-Testing with a hydrometer: If you have a kit, it will come with one of these. Basically this is a tool to test the wort to make sure it is properly mixed by how well it floats. After this step it’s time to add the yeast.

-Adding the yest: Once you’ve added the yeast you add the rubber stopper and airlock and let the yeast go to work in fermenting. You’ll want to make sure room temperature is around 70 degrees F. A lot of people also recommend when teaching how to brew your own beer to keep the fermenting tank in the dark during the process. It depends on the the type of beer you’re brewing but the entire process can take up to 2 weeks before bottling takes place.

There’s your basic rundown on how to brew your own beer. It’s very easy to do and you’ll save a lot of money in the long run. Also, if you still do not have your own brewing kit, don’t forget to check out the Coopers home brewing kit. Cheers!
